Trying to install 2.4.2 on solaris 7. Make dies here:

Seems to be tied to common-src/Makefile not having AR defined.
My rh71 box has AR = /usr/bin/ar. Can't find any utility called ar on
the sparc system.
Is this the problem? What is the solution?
