Your tape drive encountered an error while trying to write a filemark. Have you tried using a new tape? Cleaning the drive? Power-cycling the drive? Using a new tape from a different batch? etc? When I run into something like this I usually eliminate as many levels of complexity as possible so as to just focus on the immediate problem. I.e. forget amanda for the moment and see if you can just do a simple tar directly onto a tape. -Mitch
