First RH6.2 has some very well known security holes, and I recommend a
later version.

Second, much has happened in the tape changer arena for amanda thats
only available via a build from the current cvs repository on
sourceforge. Use the 2.4.2 branch.

GE> Has anyone installed one of these jukeboxes that would be able to

I'm personally useing the chg-scsi module to handle that, and Thomas
Hepper is the person who has been maintaining that in case you have
trouble setting that up.

I'm using it with a 4 slot Seagate dat, DDS2 drive. It under utilizes
the tape, so I occasionally let it look for tape while building up
backups in the holding disk for a couple of days and then do a flush.

Small caveats: Break the filesystems up into individual directory lists
to prevent any one filesystem from exceeding the capacity of the tape
should it decide to do a level 0, because amanda cannot spread a single
filesystem over multiple tapes even with a changer. But it can flush
more than one tapes worth from the holding disk, when it hits the endof
the tape, it just restarts that filesystem on the next tape and goes on.

Use the latest tar, the older ones are broken in that they generate
defective logfiles rendering the recovery impossible. I wouldn't touch
dump with a 20 foot pole. Tar can have 'exclude' lists or files also,
which prevents it from looping on the holding disk itself.

 GE> The CY810e is a 10-slot 8mm jukebox with a single Ex8505 in the
GE> base, just in case you know it by another name.

 GE> Thanks in Advance
