I'm sorry, it doesn't work that way. DDS4 media is not just longer,
it is also thinner and uses a different media formulation. It also
uses a different encoding.

If you stick a DDS4 tape into a DDS2 drive, at best the drive will spit
out the tape. At worst, it will shred or otherwise damage the tape.
Same for DDS3 media. So file this thought under "VERY BAD IDEAS"
and forget it.
