Hey guys,

I'm hoping someone can shed a bit of light on this problem for me. A few
weeks ago our finely tuned and long-running amanda system ran into a
hiccup, it stopped dumping to tape. All other aspects of amanda work
fine, it's spooling to disk.

Environment:

    Hardware:
    Sun Ultra 5
    Sony SDX-300C AIT2 tape drive

    Software:
    Solaris 7
    amanda-2.4.2

chg-scsi -status robot shows this:

    $ chg-scsi -status robot

When I try to amflush (or do regular backups) I get this error from
amanda:

    ERROR taper no-tape [label SWAN000030 or new tape not found in rack]
    ERROR amflush Cannot flush without tape. Try again.

I don't have a copy of the output of chg-scsi before this started but
the "From" field looks a bit suspect.

Also, chg-scsi -reset gives strange output:

    $ chg-scsi -reset
    chg-scsi: strange amanda header: ""
    Segmentation Fault

Anytime amanda trys to access the changer/drive I get this in my system
logs:

Jan 8 14:14:41 host unix: Sense Key: Illegal Request

Can anyone suggest something else I can look into? I've power cycled
both the tape changer and the machine it's attached to several times
with no change.
