hello

I am attempting to run an exabyte EZ 17 on a Debian 3.0 system running
2.4.2p2.

I have tweaked my changer file to say firstslot 1 lastslot 7

and when I try to execute ./chg-zd-mtx -slot 1 this is what I get.
The tape loader currently has the 3rd slot loaded into the tape drive.

./chg-zd-mtx: [: -eq: unary operator expected
./chg-zd-mtx: [: 1: unary operator expected
./chg-zd-mtx: [: 1: unary operator expected
./chg-zd-mtx: [: 1: unary operator expected
./chg-zd-mtx: [: too many arguments
./chg-zd-mtx: [: -gt: unary operator expected

/dev/sg4 is the medium changer
/dev/sg3 is the tape drive inside the ez17
When I attempt to run mtx -f /dev/sg4 first while the tape is loaded from
slot 3 i get:

Unloading Data Transfer Element into Storage Element 3...mtx: Request

mtx: Request Sense: Error in CDB=no

Is my problem with MTX or am I doing something wrong:
I've got chg-multi to work, except it never knows what the current slot
is. It just increments the slot by 1, whenever an eject occurs.

Does anyone have particular experience with this unit. If so please please
help!
