Thanks to everyone who responded.  I think I've tried everyone's
suggestions but none seem to work for me.  I think this is more of an
issue of me trying to get my firewall configured.

I've currently compiled (both client and server) with
--with-udpportrange=850,855 --with-portrange=32800,32850 as suggested
in an earlier post.

My firewall is configured to direct UDP request to ports 850-860 to
the server inside the LAN.  The firewall will also accept connections
on port 10080 in the DMZ.

I still get messages like 

ERROR: dmz.xxx.xxx.xxx: [host router.xxx.xxx.xxx: port 5180 not secure]

I can't figure out why connections are being made on port 5180,
outside the ranges I've specified...
