Hi,
I don't know if this is posible with amanda,
it's planned or it's a possible new feature.
I'm thinking about setting up a file server
at home. I would like to have backup on CD
of >80Gb. I don't want to do a full backup
ever (Of course!!).
Supposing we start from a 0 bytes occupied
disk, I have an idea about a backup policy:
- A very large number of tapes (cd's); 150-200
for a 100G disk.
- Each run, the system backs up new, modified
and oldest files.
- Oldest files are those which last backup copy
are in the oldest CD.
- The size of the backup is fixed (750 Mb).
- New and modified files have priority and old
files fill the rest of the backup space.
- I think in my personal case, one run for week
is enough.
Is this possible to implement this with amanda?
Which problems do you see?
