I think you can simply tell amanda to skip using that tape for
the time being.

/usr/local/sbin/amcheck <config> no-reuse <tape-label>

and restore it to rotation when you are ready

/usr/local/sbin/amcheck <config> reuse <tape-label>

Note, tapes are used from eldest (bottom of the list)
/usr/local/etc/amanda/<config-name>

so your original order will not be preserved...
