I'm having a hard time debugging this one, so I'm waving the white flag
for some help :)
Server - BSDI 4.1, Amanda 2.4.2p2
Client - FBSD 4.4, Amanda 2.4.2p2
There is a firewall inbetween, but I'm already backing up 7 other machines
outside, so I'm confident the firewall is not the problem. There are
42 total partitions being backed up (including gtar). There are no
blocking messages in the firewall log. The amdump.NN log says the
following:

So, yesterday I ran amdump on just that machine and all three partitions
were backed up fine. Here's what the Amanda dump that worked reported:
