Hi all,

I've run amanda smoothly for months now. Somehow, when I added anotehr
client with a big filesystem to backup, each time amdump is run, it
always return this error:

*** A TAPE ERROR OCCURRED: [[writing file: No space left on device]].
*** PERFORMED ALL DUMPS TO HOLDING DISK.

The result is that after eache amdump run, I always have to do an
amflush on a new tape.

Thought that my tape was close to full so I added another tape to the
tapecyle. Somehow I still receive the same error.

Since I'm using "root-tar" (no software compression) as dumptype, I
thought it may be the cause of my problem. Now, I plan to use
comp-root-tar but I hesitate since I don't know how to verify if my tape
drive (HP SureStore Dat 8) is already doing harware compression or not?
Anyone using this device (or someone else) knows the answer?
