lev0 dumps failing

Title: lev0 dumps failing

ive got a tape server with 4 dds3 12/24 gig drives in it backing up 7 clients.  on my two client machines that are the largest, im getting this error:

countach /dev/sda3 lev 0 FAILED [can't switch to incremental dump]

my tapetype is:

    length 12288 mbytes

}

the dumptype is:

}

the first host is 4.1 gigs and the second is 5.6 gigs.

what other information is needed to troubleshoot?
