Hi Robert, I by no means an Amanda expert, however I am pretty sure you can mix dump and gnutar in your backups. I think it is simply a matter of adjusting the entries in your disklist. I have been able to use both dump and gnutar without problems. You may need to make sure that your clients have access to the desired program (ie. install gnutar if you don't have it on the client).
