Amrecover does not use the Amanda tape changer, so you need to tell it explicitly what drive to use, e.g. "-d /dev/nst0" (or whatever the path is for your system). That's also what it was saying in the amidxtaped*debug file: amrestore: could not stat 0 amidxtaped: could not stat 0 In other words, both programs tried to read or operate on a tape drive named "0" which, of course, does not exist.
