Check your amanda.conf to correct the setting.  I forget the Solaris
device markings, but your tapedevice should be something like /dev/nrst0

n = non-rewinding

On BSDI, FreeBSD the devices were nrst0 and nrsa0 respectively for a SCSI
tape drive.

Perhaps doing a man mt would give you the correct settings for Solaris.
