What does the taper line say in the NOTES section? For instance:
taper: tape 040066/RCD kb 39855072 fm 358 writing file: No such device or address
This says taper had written 39855072 KBytes (~38 GBytes) when it got
the error. Look at that value for your system and you should have a
pretty good idea what to set your tapetype length to.
Note that this will not prevent Amanda from hitting EOT. It just gives
planner a better shot of fitting the estimates into what you say the
tape will hold. But if the backups turn out to be larger, Amanda will
try to do them all.
