In general, yes. However there are ways around it. Paul mentioned one -- just make sure the schedules don't cross. Another is to patch Amanda to allow alternate service names to be used and have multiple amandad entries in inetd.conf on your clients (that's what we do to run end of semester archives without disturbing the normal daily runs).
