As Alisa said, the most likely cause is that you don't have indexing
turned on.  A quick way to check this is:

  amadmin rtec disklist shakira.r-tec.int

Look for "index YES".

That's not what you want to do for "setdisk".  You're supposed to enter
the disk that was backed up on the client.

For example, let's say your disklist entry looks something like this:

  shakira.r-tec.int /usr/local some-dumptype

Then you would want to do this (if amrecover can't figure it out for
itself):

  sethost shakira.r-tec.int
  setdisk /usr/local
