Hi Doug -

I know the /dev/st0 device will not complain and depending on your unix
variety you just need to make sure that the 'nst0' device is *not* the
non-rewinding device (this bit me a few weeks back as I transitioned from
BSDI to FreeBSD).  Otherwise, that command works just fine every night for
me.  And no, you don't need to use the same device as is referenced in the
amanda.conf file.
