I am a newbee here and am just abt to install Amanda to take incremantal
backups of abt 15 linux clients. I had a few elementary questions
1. I have tar 1.13.19 . Where do i get the patch up for runing Amanda
using tar and how exactly do i apply it?
2.My purpose is to take incremental backups of the machines on the hard
disks of some of the machines itself (NO TAPE).( Ours is a very
small group of Graduate students having a very small network of abt 15 Linux clients
and a Linux server, so our requirements are very modest ;-) ).So any ideas
how shd i configure my Amanda (probable values of dumpcycle , runsperdump
,tapedevs ..etc) .
3.Does Amanda decide for itself when to take a full backup and when to go
for a incremental one? If yes how does it do that?
4.I dont have a tape device so what do i specify abt the tape dev location
and tapechng in configuration?
