David, "amcheck -m conf" not sending emails is a well documented feature :-) It should alarm operators only in case of trouble. You'll have to worry if you don't get mail without a tape loaded. I do an amcheck in a cron job on work day afternoons to be sure backups at night do work. I don't want to be bothered with an email if all is well. HTH, Johannes Nie�
