Some of us are in tight spots: I'm in a .edu research group, with not enough
money.  The collaboration we're in has decided on AIT-2 as a standard.  So
far, the tape drive and the tapes cost about as much as 3 (out of 4) CPUs 
that the group owns.  Plus, they're getting free labor in the form of me.
