Hi all,
I got several tape errors recently.
Cleaning the drive doesn't seem to help.
Last errors are:

How can I tell if it's a problem with the configuration, with the
tape or with the drive?
Tape daily001 worked fine on May, 21st.
taper: tape daily-001 kb 610272 fm 12 [OK]
Tape daily004 worked fine on May, 17th.
taper: tape daily-004 kb 2018720 fm 12 [OK]
Tape daily003 worked fine on May, 16th.
taper: tape daily-003 kb 667072 fm 12 [OK]
Configuration for daily tapes is:
>tapetype DLTTypeIII-10 # what kind of tape it is (see
>tapetypes below)
>
>...
>
>define tapetype DLTTypeIII-10 {
> comment "The 10/20 tapes we are using here"
> length 10000 mbytes # 10 GB tapes
> filemark 8 kbytes # A guy on the list uses 8 kb here.
> speed 5120 kbytes # 5 MB/s
>}
Is my filemark setting incorrect? Could the speed be wrong?
Any hint?
(we do both daily and weekly backups, weeklies on wednesdays).
