Hello, I just finished installing a StorageTek L40 library with 40 slots and with 4 LTO drives. Using mtx-1.2.16rel I can access and move tapes from slots and drives even though I have to do a 'mt offline' to get the robot to pick tapes from drives as otherwize I get scsi timeouts (is this a known behaviour?). This tape library will be used to backup a 3TB raid systems, which is partitionned for the moment with one chunk of 500GB and a lot of chunks of 100GB.
Any recommendations on how to setup amanda to backup this raid? I'm planning on having a dumpcycle of 6 weeks, a runspercycle of 30 and tapecycle of 40. Does this make sense at all? One more thing: what is the most effective way of using the 4 LTO drives? Should I have more than 1 config? TIA, jf
