Hi,
I accidentally removed the logfiles that amanda managed.

So now the situation is that I can't use anymore the amrecover
...argggghh..
I thought that the only file that we need was the ones under index/ and
curinfo/
but it's not the case.
I thought so because even if the log was deleted, the amdump was still
doing
is job by spreading the dumps over the dumpcycle...
So i thought that amanda has all the information needed to work fine...
:(

So my matter was to recover one file for a person today ..And I finally
find it by looking
in my amanda's mail to find out which tape I need to load..and I also
discover how to walk
in the tape to recover (through ufsrestore) the specified file:

Now the question:
1)Is that true that amdump can work fine without the logfiles????

2)I would like to know what are the essential information and their
respective structure
in the logfiles which amrecover need to work.
I though that if I can do that by myself(looking throw the emails and
the index), then
it should be a way to just reconstruct a minimun logfiles where the
information should
be reconstruct from the emails and the index/ .

If you have any idea on the topic....feel free ...I really need your
help
