  Re: to disk backups.  I think it is good Amanda has/is adopting this,
  but for pure disk to disk backup purposes, I fail to see the advantage
  over just doing tars and scp'ing them where I need/want to store them.

  Re: GUIs.  I don't know, but I would suspect Sun's motivation to
  work on the GUI has more to do with the fact that more and more
  developers/admins are coming into the workforce that are totally 
  lost when faced with a command line.  Sadly, the number of users
  who know and love the command line is shrinking daily.
