Hi, I've been using amanda successfully for more than two years now. However, I recently needed to move my tape library from a machine running Solaris 2.8 to another Sun box running 2.8. This list recommended using the sgen driver and modifying sgen.conf to include the changer and sequential devices. I did all that but chg-scsi still fails to load tapes into the tape drive and chg-scsi.debug has many SCSI errors. The scsi inquiry commands can get the information from the devices (the robotic arm and the tape drive) but would not load and unload any tape from the library.
I am running amanda-2.42-19991216-beta1. Would an upgrade to 2.4.3 help, in particular the changer-src directory, help? I would greatly appreciate any help. Best, -> Pinchas Lev
