Hallo, I've got a problem with amanda I am not able to solve. Our backup server is set up to backup only from itself, so host and client are the same. My disklist file has five entries, with five different paths on that one host. Amcheck does not report any problem. When I start amdump manually as the amanda user, all those 5 disks are backuped correctly.
Now, a normal run takes place in the night. So I have set up a simple Shell-Skript that performes one amcheck, one amdump and one amverify. I put this script into amanda's crontab. On every (reproducable) nightly run, two of those disks fail with the following error: host /live_backup/hosts/disk2 lev 0 FAILED 20020702[could not connect to host] host /live_backup/hosts/disk4 lev 0 FAILED 20020702[could not connect to host] These two failed disks are not always the same ones, however always 2 disks fail. The other three go to tape. Amanda version is 2.4.3b3 . Is there anyone, understanding some more than I do? Best regards , Ralf
