We have a Solaris 250 that uses amanda to back up to a Qualstar tape changer.
This works fine.

We are trying to connect a Solaris 450 to a Qualstar TLS-4000 tape changer.
Have got everything attached but the Computer does not seem to recognize the
changer. There is no "/dev/scsi" directory.

The OS is Solaris 8

Was told to change the /kernel/drv/sgen.conf file . So edited it to include
the entries from the working Solaris 250:
----------
device-type-config-list="changer";
name="sgen" class="scsi" target=0 lun=0;
name="sgen" class="scsi" target=1 lun=0;
name="sgen" class="scsi" target=2 lun=0;
name="sgen" class="scsi" target=3 lun=0;
name="sgen" class="scsi" target=4 lun=0;
name="sgen" class="scsi" target=5 lun=0;
name="sgen" class="scsi" target=6 lun=0;
name="sgen" class="scsi" target=7 lun=0;
name="sgen" class="scsi" target=8 lun=0;
----------

Then did a "reboot -- -r"

This did not help.

Has anyone run into this problem?
