Actually, I have three configs. One uses a custom glue script that I wrote to drive an EXB-10h changer (through the ch.o module I found on the net somewhere), and the other two use chg-manual. I don't try or recommend trying to share a changer across configurations, and I got the impression from the original post that the configuration in question also used multiple changers. Part of the reason my separate configurations work might be because they're _really_ separate: each one has its own amanda.conf, configuration directory (containing amanda.conf), and subs. They only share binaries. This results in duplicated backups, but I take them off site to two different sites (I'm paranoid), so I like having repeated data.
If you need the changer script, I can send it to you off-list. I posted it when I first got it working in '00, don't know if anyone but me ever used it. > -----Original Message----- > From: John Koenig [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Wednesday, July 24, 2002 3:16 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: RE: Using multiple Tapechangers > > > Which changer glue are you using for this, please. > > Are you splitting the magazine? i.e. one config uses tapes 0-7 and > the other config uses tapes 8-14, with, possibly a cleaning tape on > 15? > > Curious minds really want to know... :) > > thx >
