Try the latest snapshot of 2.4.3b3 from
http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/~martinea/amanda
it fixe a few problem with the exclude.
Don't forget to upgrade the server and the client.
I'm not sure it works if you use the device name in the disklist,
you should try with the directory name.
