I have been unable to find all the kerberos bits in CVS, and the few
files that I did find (in amanda-krb-2) do not have tags. Given that
amanda is on sourceforge, and that other programs with encryption are
also on sourceforge (given the 'new' export rules), is there any
reason to continue the separation of the kerberos bits? I don't mean
to sound ungrateful - amanda has been very helpful to me. But, I
think that it will be more useful to people and more likely to be
improved (particularly with respect to kerberos issues) if this
apparently no longer necessary hurdle can be removed.
If they are separate not for US export control, but to ease import
into other countries, may I suggest a parallel module (like
amanda-krb-2) that both CVS and releases expect to be present, and
which has the same tag/branch structure. Perhaps a directory in CVS
with client/common/server subdirectories that can be omitted from
release tarballs would be better, since the tag/branch operations
would be more natural and less likely to be forgotten.
