One comment... When I was pricing holding disk storage about 6 months ago, I came to the conclusion that I would rather pay a buck or $1.25 per GB (ATA 100) than the $6-$6.50 per GB premium for Ultra 160... Though this may alter your vertical height requirements as I am not aware of any high-end rackmount IDE/ATA storage solutions...but I presume they exist... as it would be a business opportunity due to the cost per GB.
