I have an amanda server that has been running for about 2 years. About 6
servers (including the amanda server itself) are being backed up. Recently
the amanda server started refusing to backup itself. The backup server's
hostname is tahiti. Here the message I get in my email:

FAILURE AND STRANGE DUMP SUMMARY:
tahiti /var lev 0 FAILED [Request to tahiti timed out.]
tahiti /usr lev 0 FAILED [Request to tahiti timed out.]
tahiti /home2 lev 0 FAILED [Request to tahiti timed out.]
tahiti /home lev 0 FAILED [Request to tahiti timed out.]
tahiti /boot lev 0 FAILED [Request to tahiti timed out.]
tahiti / lev 0 FAILED [Request to tahiti timed out.]
  tonga /var lev 1 STRANGE
  c2 /home lev 1 STRANGE
  c3 /home lev 1 STRANGE

Nothing else abnormal appears in the report, just the fact it's unable to
backup itself. Running amcheck on the machine is fine:

Amanda Backup Client Hosts Check
--------------------------------
Client check: 6 hosts checked in 1.182 seconds, 0 problems found.

I removed all servers but tahiti from the disklist in order to narrow down
the testing. That too failed but with an additional error in the report:

NOTES:
driver: WARNING: got empty schedule from planner
taper: tape SITE-FULL-20 kb 0 fm 0 [OK]

I've verified read/writability of all configs and directories by the amanda
user (operator), I've verified that inetd.conf is running and that all amanda
services are listening.

Disk usage on tahiti hasn't increased signifcantly (if at all) in recent
memory:

[root@tahiti amanda]# df -h

/dev/hda12 124M 50M 68M 43% /

/dev/hda5 9.8G 16k 9.3G 0% /var/cache/amanda

Any ideas on what might be wrong?

Thanks!
