Getting more informative message from amcheck -t

I'm not an expert, so if this is easy, please be gentle.
As the tape server is remote from me, I have implemented the documented modification to have chg-manual send me an email when it needs a different tape. Unfortunately, the message I receive is not particularly informative: specifically, I would like to be told which tape is needed.
In the original version of chg-manual I get which tape was in there, but amcheck must know which is the correct tape, so how do I find that information without having to scour the amcheck log file in /tmp/amanda?
