Hello there, I've managed to get a tapeless backup running OK on 2.4.3 on RedHat 7.2 (and GNUTAR 1.13.19) but when I try an amrecover extract I get the following messages:
[QUOTE] EOF, check amidxtaped.debug file on pc3690.asm.psi.ch. amrecover: short block 0 bytes UNKNOWN file amrecover: Can't read file header extract_list - child returned non-zero status: 1 [UNQUOTE] The amidxtaped*debug tells me the following: [QUOTE] amidxtaped: debug 1 pid 18465 ruid 508 euid 508: start at Tue Jan 21 19:00:16 2003 amidxtaped: version 2.4.3 amidxtaped: time 0.000: > SECURITY USER root amidxtaped: time 0.001: bsd security: remote host pc3690.asm.psi.ch user root local user amanda amidxtaped: time 0.001: amandahosts security check passed amidxtaped: time 0.001: > 6 amidxtaped: time 0.001: amrestore_nargs=6 amidxtaped: time 0.001: > -h amidxtaped: time 0.001: > -p amidxtaped: time 0.001: > PSI_ASM_DailySet130 amidxtaped: time 0.001: > ^pc3690$ amidxtaped: time 0.001: > ^/home$ amidxtaped: time 0.002: > 20030120 amidxtaped: time 0.002: Ready to execv amrestore with: path = /usr/local/sbin/amrestore argv[0] = "amrestore" argv[1] = "-h" argv[2] = "-p" argv[3] = "PSI_ASM_DailySet130" argv[4] = "^pc3690$" argv[5] = "^/home$" argv[6] = "20030120" amrestore: could not stat PSI_ASM_DailySet130 amidxtaped: time 0.010: amrestore terminated normally with status: 2 amidxtaped: could not stat PSI_ASM_DailySet130 amidxtaped: time 0.010: could not stat PSI_ASM_DailySet130 amidxtaped: time 0.010: pid 18465 finish time Tue Jan 21 19:00:16 2003 [UNQUOTE] Any ideas what might be going wrong here? I've tried doing a "rewind" of the "tape" directory but it seems to make no difference. All advice/assistance appreciated. Thanks. Regards, Ralph.
