Hi, I need some help.
I was going through the install of Amanda 2.3.4 and during the Configure the process errored out with the following line configure: error: *** --user-USER is missing Any ideas what I missed. I figured this is a minor issue and caused by an oversight on my behalf Thanks Christopher Broadwater PC/LAN Specialist Victoria IS Department 10 New Road East Providence, RI 02909 (401)-435-9220 X2273 -----Original Message----- From: John [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, February 07, 2003 10:06 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: The next tape Amanda expects to use is: a new tape On Mon, Feb 03, 2003 at 01:07:51PM -0500, Joshua Baker-LePain wrote: > On Mon, 3 Feb 2003 at 12:26pm, John wrote > > > *** A TAPE ERROR OCCURRED: [cannot overwrite active tape Daily01]. > > Some dumps may have been left in the holding disk. > > Run amflush to flush them to tape. > > The next tape Amanda expects to use is: a new tape. > > > > Is there a way to make it use the existing 7 remaining tapes instead of > > throwing a new tape at it? Thank folks for the helpful tips. I've edited my amanda.conf to read 7 tapes. I've also removed the broken tape 4 out of my tapelist. The trouble is that a cow-orker was making some edits and left some amanda.conf files laying about. I ended up changing the wrong file a few times. I've since smacked the cow-orker up side the head with an old 5G ESDI hard drive. Left a nice mark ;) And now the extra amanda.conf is removed from the server. Thanks again list for the prompt help from everyone. j
