amrecover fatal error

Hi,   I am experiencing some problems with amrecover. Last night I ran a backup which was about 1.3GB of data from a Windows XP PC. Instead of backing up to tape, I backed up to the HD. The amdump went ok - no errors there. However, when I try to use amrecover, at certain directories it crashes giving me a "Segmentation fault". Not every directory makes amrecover crash, just a couple. Has anyone had this before and found a solution?   Martin
