If it doesn't have to be exactly a floppy, you could pack your own version of Knoppix with amanda-binaries on it. If you regularly rsync stuff like curinfo and index-files to another host, you could provide them to the Knoppix-CD via USB-stick. Would be an interesting solution, I think ...
