It's been a while now since my last mail, but I am still having trouble with one partition:

Not from the info you gave. We need much more info. E.g. - amanda.conf - disklist - log files ~amanda: log.2004xxxx.x and amdump.xx - relevant debug files found on the client in /tmp/amanda/... - Your network topology (is this a machine over a 14.4 baud serial modem doing a backup of 4 Gbyte?) How fast is this machine? How large is the /var partition? - Have you tried the tar command by hand (you find the exact tar command in one of the /tmp/amanda/*debug files). Does it finish? How long does it take?
