Besides the "localhost" problem, you have to rewind the tape, even if it is a virtual tape:
ammt -f file://home/amandatapes/daily rewind
or, alternatively, add these two directives to amanda.conf:
amrecover_do_fsf yes # this implies a rewind amrecover_check_label yes
