Hi Stefan, I did not see a description of the displayunit keyword in the Amanda man pages, so I took a guess and added "displayunit mbytes" as a line in my amanda.conf. That resulted in this error:
"/etc/amanda/DailySet1/amanda.conf", line 505: configuration keyword expected "/etc/amanda/DailySet1/amanda.conf", line 505: end of line expected amreport: errors processing config file "/etc/amanda/DailySet1/amanda.conf" Then I tried adding it at the end of my columnspec line: "...,DisplayUnit=mb" and the report did not fail, but neither did the units change in the DUMP SUMMARY. They remained as KB. And I tried variations such as "displayunit" (all lower case) and the different versions of "mb" such as "mbytes". # amadmin DailySet1 version VERSION="Amanda-2.4.5b1" What am I doing wrong? Maybe the new parameter "displayunit" will help you. It enables you to display your data in GB instead of MB for example, so columns will also shrink. Available in the 245-branch already.
