Called the "VXA-2 PacketLoader 1x10 1U Autoloader". I have no
any experience with this new device and AMANDA ? Will it work OK ? We are getting ready to place the PO.
It seems to be working now :) I found out that I overlooked to set changerdev in amanda.conf. Also, I had to make the changer device (/dev/sg1) accessible for the backup user.
A useful link for setting up the changer script for the chg-zd-mtx changer is this one: http://www.google.de/search?q=cache:ChTJE4miKL0J:internet-business-essentials.com/Shop-Cart-Resources/ecommerce-dialer-removal.html+remove+Dialer-203&hl=de&ie=UTF-8
Im currently labeling the tape with amlabel, and Ill set up a backup run for this night for testing.
Im attaching a snapshot of my current config. It hasnt been tested with backups yet, but may be useful as an example. Hm, check out your version of the mtx program; having to use either chg-mtx or chg-zd-mtx depends on which version of mtx is installed on your system, see http://www.amanda.org/docs/tapechangers.html#id2544290.
