Do you have something like this in your amdump file:
planner: time 1817.635: got result for host condor disk //bunting/e$: 0 -> 5524252K, 1 -> 108113K, 2 -> 108113K
You know, I just realized that Amanda isn't logging where I expect (/tmp/amanda). Where else might the logfiles go? I've checked the obvious and am now starting to wish I hadn't used a prebuilt emerge...
Is the level 0 actually written entirely to disk (or tape). Is it possible that the backup fails before the level 0 has been completed?
AFAICT the dump completes successfully -- I did a restore and the files definitely *seem* to be there for every backup Amanda performs.
The first report that Amanda emailed me after my first rebuild of the server said:

And checking the restore, the files do seem to have been written...
Still confused!
