Different than where I was headed, but given that I'm going to control disk space on that volume group "manually" (with a wrapper script), then I suppose I could do that. One less thing to deal with. And I could declare the vtapes to be the same size as the physical tapes. Having someone else look at things, often puts a new prespectivr on things. I think I will do as you sugest here.
