Hello everyone,

Approximately once a month, some of my servers fail to make backups

FAILURE AND STRANGE DUMP SUMMARY:

Strange.
Is /var/backup a local filesystem? Or mounted via NFS?

Is the user "backup" defined in the local password file or via yp/ldap?

Or both? And are they consistent (e.g. same uid/gid in both places?)

Is the DNS consistently giving back the same hostname? ("linuxbackup2.smarterlinux.com", always FQDN too?)

Has one of the hosts two interface cards, and are they reverse resolved identically? (if not, add lines to .amandahosts)
