Hi,

how is /mnt/usbdrive mounted? Amanda automatically runs the native filesystem dump program. It will run xfsdump for XFS filesystems, vxdump for Veritas filesystems, vdump for AdvFS (Tru64), dump for other filesystems.
I suspect dump cannot hanlde /mnt/usbdrive.
