Hi,

I had a working amanda configuration with
amanda-2.5.0p2. My backup server and the backup
client are the same machine. And the OS used is RHEL3.
To upgrade the configuration to version 2.5.1p3, I
simply downloaded the amanda-backup_server rpm for
version 2.5.1p3 and used the "rpm -Uvh
manda-backup_server-2.5.1p3-1.rhel3.i386.rpm" command.
Amanda got upgraded successfully, my existing amanda
configurations as well as the amanda files in the
xinetd.d remainded intact. Later I checked the
configurations using the "amcheck <config_name>"
command and it didn't return any error. I just want to
know whether this is the right way to upgrade from
2.5.0 to 2.5.1. Especially my amanda config file in
xinetd.d didn't have any "-auth" directive and I had
read that the "-auth" directive is necessary in 2.5.1.

Also I find a new file called amanda-client.conf in
2.5.1 which I didn't find in 2.5.0. How significant is
this file and will my configuration work properly
without editing this file?

Thanks

Yogesh
