I get the same sort of thing with 2.5.1p3 on Solaris 9 using ufsdump with ssh. I had assumed it was because ssh on Solaris 9 seems to have an issue with terminating connections -- I get sshd kern.notice in /var/adm/messages every time an ssh session disconnects. They've patched it a couple of times, but can't seem to get it right. So I was just ignoring the defunct amanda processes. They go away when the backup is completed anyway. --------------- Chris Hoogendyk - O__ ---- Systems Administrator c/ /'_ --- Biology & Geology Departments (*) \(*) -- 140 Morrill Science Center ~~~~~~~~~~ - University of Massachusetts, Amherst <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> --------------- Erdös 4
