Hello, We use Amanda 2.5.0p2 for our backup requirements. Actually the same Linux host acts a backup server as well as a backup client. The backup process has been working fine for more than last 6 months. Have started observing a few problems since last 2 days. Error observed after running "amcheck <config_name>" is as given here:
Amanda Backup Client Hosts Check -------------------------------- WARNING: <client_name>: selfcheck request failed: timeout waiting for REP Client check: 1 host checked in 91.097 seconds, 1 problem found (brought to you by Amanda 2.5.0p2) The /var/log/amanda/<config_name>/log.20071105.0 has the following contents: START driver date 20071105 DISK planner <client_name> /vol/vol1/home START planner date 20071105 STATS driver startup time 0.054 START taper datestamp 20071105 label tendaily-06 tape 0 ERROR planner Request to <client_name> failed: timeout waiting for REP FAIL planner <client_name> /vol/vol1/home 20071105 0 [hmm, disk was stranded on waitq] FINISH planner date 20071105 time 9000.516 WARNING driver WARNING: got empty schedule from planner INFO taper tape tendaily-06 kb 0 fm 0 [OK] FINISH driver date 20071105 time 9005.932 On doing "ps -ef | grep amanda", a few backdated selfcheck and sendsize processes are seen to be running.
